Terms & Conditions | Rural Scrap Metal

1. Definitions

• We/Us/Our: Rural Scrap Metal (NSW).
• You/Your: The customer booking a pick-up, visiting a depot or interacting with us.
• Materials: Scrap metal and other items we agree to accept.
• Weighbridge ticket: Record of weight used for settlement.

2. Service scope

We buy and recycle scrap metal via free pick-ups for larger loads and at our depots in Muswellbrook and Morisset. Acceptance of any item is at our discretion and subject to safety, access and legal requirements.

3. Quotes & pricing

• Quotes are based on information provided and current market rates and are indicative until verified on site or at the weighbridge.
• Final price is determined by grade, contamination and verified weight.
• Market prices may change at short notice; we may update pricing prior to acceptance.

4. Weights & payment

• All settlements are based on weighbridge-verified weights or calibrated scales.
• Payment is by instant EFT to the account you provide. Keep your details accurate.
• We may withhold or delay payment where required for compliance checks or if ownership is disputed.

5. Identification & compliance

You must present valid photo ID and any paperwork required under applicable scrap metal legislation. We may record vehicle details, images and weighbridge tickets to meet legal obligations.

6. Prohibited / hazardous items

• No gas bottles or pressurised cylinders unless properly de-valved.
• No liquids, fuels, chemicals or paint.
• No asbestos or other hazardous waste.
• Batteries accepted subject to inspection and safe handling requirements.

7. Access, loading & waiting time

• You are responsible for safe, legal access for our vehicles and equipment.
• We may refuse collection if access is unsafe or likely to cause damage.
• Reasonable loading assistance is included; excessive delays may incur a waiting charge (if advised in advance).

8. Cancellations & rescheduling

• Please provide as much notice as possible to cancel or reschedule.
• We may reschedule due to weather, safety, equipment or traffic issues.

9. Title transfer & risk

Title in Materials transfers to us upon payment or when the Materials are loaded onto our vehicle (as advised by our staff). You warrant that you have the right to sell the Materials free of encumbrances.

10. Warranties & representations

• You warrant Materials are described accurately and are not stolen or unlawfully obtained.
• To the extent permitted by law, our services are provided “as is” without additional warranties.

11. Liability limitation

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or business interruption. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the re-supply of services or the cost of doing so.

12. Indemnity

You indemnify us against claims, losses, damages or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, unsafe access/conditions you control, or your failure to have authority to sell the Materials.

13. Website use

• Content is for general information. We aim for accuracy but do not guarantee completeness.
• Do not misuse the site (introducing malware, scraping, or unauthorised access).
• Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and are not endorsements.

14. Privacy

We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, including identity checks, weighbridge records and instant EFT payments.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of NSW.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Material changes may be noted on this page.
